PREPARING TO LEARN: If you haven’t already, please purchase a copy of Dr. Francine Shapiro’s book EMDR Therapy: Basic Principles, Protocols and Procedures. Get the 3rd edition (2017). This is required reading for completion of the overall training and contains details and nuances of the core theory and fundamentals of practice underlying the training. While it is probably too dense to fully absorb before the training, scanning through it and reading parts will help you prepare for the training. You can purchase the book at this link as well as on Amazon and in other locations. We have a limited number to offer at a discount. Please click here to purchase. Another book by Shapiro, Getting Past Your Past, is written for a lay audience and will be useful as you teach your clients about EMDR therapy.
CE Questions – Part 1 EMDR Basic Training: QUIZ WK 1 2.22.21 Manual No Answers 3.10
Please come ready to learn. The morning parts of the training will be didactic presentations of the core concepts and procedures of EMDR therapy. The afternoon component will be held in small groups and will feature practicum experiences which are opportunities to use the EMDR treatment protocols. As part of this practicum learning experience, you will at times be in the role of client, and for this, you will be asked to select a personal issue to work on. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of guidance and support to help you identify an appropriate issue.
